1. ACX™ 6.4
Automated Checkpoint X-ray System
Brings the power and performance once reserved for hold baggage systems to checkpoint screening, without sacrificing throughput. Blending proven advanced technology-compliant explosives detection with crisp, detailed imaging, the system scans hand-carried items with simultaneous X-ray imaging and advanced explosives detection technology. It automatically pinpoints explosives and other potential threats, allowing operators to respond quickly and appropriately.
Bin Return System
Automates the checkpoint bin return process with unprecedented efficiency, flexibility, convenience, and economy. This simple-to-use system contributes to increased throughput rates for scanning hand-carried and personal items. The BRS accommodates diverse space requirements with modular sections that can be configured to multiple lengths and installed on either side of the scanner. Built for quiet, reliable performance, the sturdy BRS provides a steady, accessible supply of bins at the entrance. Intuitive reloading at the exit keeps bins moving.
Walk-through Explosives Trace Detection
Unlike other ETD systems that can only detect explosives included in their substance libraries, PassPort detects explosive compounds based on thermodynamic characteristics common to all explosives. So any explosive, whether a previously documented substance or a newly created one, can be detected. PassPort’s highly sensitive threat detection maximizes throughput, convenience and the probability of detection while minimizing the potential for false alarms.
Whole Body Imager
With the ProVision whole-body imager, there’s no limit to the threats you can see and eliminate. Faster, more reliable and less intrusive than pat-down searches, ProVision quickly and easily locates weapons, drugs, and other concealed threats of any material. As safe to use as a cell phone, the system’s leading-edge millimeter wave technology utilizes harmless non-ionizing signals and generates a clear view of hidden threats in as little as two seconds.

Pinpoint accuracy and advanced material discrimination are the hallmark of the versatile Protocol PD 6500i metal detection component. Multiple target zones detect flat and rod-shaped objects regardless of orientation. Multidimensional detection fields eliminate hot spots and weak signals to enhance sensitivity for precise target location. State-of-the-art microprocessor controls provide uniform scanning from archway to floor, ensuring accurate and fast threat detection..
Five detection technologies:
Active millimeter wave whole-body imaging
Developed from three-dimensional holographic imaging, millimeter wave technology penetrates materials and “sees” extremely low-level radio waves reflected off of the human body. Safer to use than a cell phone, non-ionizing millimeter wave technology reveals in seconds even the slimmest objects hidden on the body.
Energetic materials explosives trace detection
Unlike conventional ETD systems based on ion mobility spectroscopy that only detect explosives included in their substance libraries, energetic materials detection (EMD) detects explosive compounds based on thermodynamic characteristics common to all explosives; so there’s no limit to the types of explosives EMD can find.
Zoned metal detection
The zoned metal detection technology with multidimensional detection fields provide uniform scanning, eliminate hot spots and weak signals, and enhance sensitivity for precise target recognition.
Combined X-ray and automated explosives detection
Dual-energy x-ray technology measures the mass, density and effective atomic number (Zeff) of concealed objects. Borrowing the proprietary, advanced technology (AT) detection algorithms from the hold baggage screening systems to analyze the data, the system automatically detects the presence of explosives and produces high resolution images to help identify other threat objects.

The heart and brains of the System, SIS, collects input from individual components, combines the data and organizes the resulting information into a composite picture of potential threats.

This pioneering approach to information retrieval and transmission represents a dramatic evolution in sensor integration, allowing user access to all available sensor data on a common user interface.
The SIS is an expandable integration platform that provides decision support for inspectors. A unified presentation of sensor data integrates personal screening and will expand to integrate bag screening data, as well as allow the addition of new sensors to meet varying security applications and evolving needs.
The SIS can be configured to present the fullest possible array of threat detection information in any application where checkpoint inspection is required.
ProTech’s intelligent, passenger console fuses data collected from individual screening components to provide a complete overview of threats and alarms associated with the system’s screening functions. The baggage-screening console combines 3-button conveyor control with a touch-sensitive pad that allows continuous heads-up operation using icons displayed on the viewing screen. L-3’s proprietary, powerful, intuitive, and easy-to-use operating interface gives screeners the tools they need to make rapid decisions without sacrificing throughput. Both passenger and baggage-screening operator controls can be operated from a remote viewing location. The SIS can be configured to present the fullest possible array of threat detection information in any application where checkpoint inspection is required.
