The project was approved and financed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The three-year project is an upgrade to the overall security of the LAEC. The project is meant to enhance the physical and IT infrastructure currently in place at the LAEC. All systems will be integrated and administrated from a newly created Command and Control Center of the whole building.
